I had just "broken up" with the major insurance company I'd worked for for the previous six years, and was looking for work when I received a call from a former boss, who had been approached about finding storage for these medical records. What timing!

I worked with one other guy in the warehouse. He wasn't a computer guy, but he had a meticulous attention to detail. I showed him the ropes of the computer database and he took to it like a duck to water. He was the archivist, I did a combination of gruntwork and legwork. I'd be up on a rolling ladder taking down transfile boxes of medical records one day, the next, I'd be in suit and tie responding to a subpoena from the Department of Health Medicaid Fraud Division (I'd just drop off "evidence"). It was a pretty weird job, and our contract wasn't renewed when we were able to shred about 80% of the records (they had to be maintained for ten years). At the end, I must have moved and sorted about ten tons of paper.Big Bad Bald Bastardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01983025559556548658noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7486020167848564517.post-512790515779636212013-02-07T14:30:21.335-06:002013-02-07T14:30:21.335-06:00Ooohh, I just might love his job, too!Ooohh, I just might love his job, too!Deborahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10923684348280285282noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7486020167848564517.post-59637479223900592542013-02-07T13:40:06.012-06:002013-02-07T13:40:06.012-06:00Loves his job AND managed to convey his enthusiasm...Loves his job AND managed to convey his enthusiasm to others. A valuable combination. I just spent a painful 20 minute conversation with someone who loves her job and can't understand why the rest of us might think it's complicated or frustrating. You know on the Free to Be You & Me record when they say, "And some kind of help is the kind of help...we all can do without." Yeah, she's working her way up to that. I like your guy better.Kizzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01957878512519527975noreply@blogger.com
