I hope the carrots were actually fresh ones cut specially in the kitchen. (I cut my cucumbers that way.) And my husband appreciates a gimlet on Friday evening: 2 ounces gin plus 1/2 ounce of Rose's Lime Juice on the rocks, no dyed green cherry. ;)Karen (formerly kcinnova)https://www.blogger.com/profile/16705613736966783261noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7486020167848564517.post-58355190887731231392010-05-03T15:25:03.434-06:002010-05-03T15:25:03.434-06:00You really took me there with you as you described...You really took me there with you as you described everything so well. I always cut my carrots like that - and I assure you they are not frozen - is there a special way of cutting raw carrots?

But it looked a wonderful old fashioned place - I especially liked the booths.Gillyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00322140697547406511noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7486020167848564517.post-59424075049311790212010-05-02T23:54:37.296-06:002010-05-02T23:54:37.296-06:00Love that place. (Not that I'd order it, but it sums up Musso's for me.)

What's really amazing is that it has indeed survived on The Boulevard for ninety yrs. (The parking lot in the rear, perhaps.) Considering all the other watering holes of the wealthy that've passed, many from much better locations, that's some record, & whatever you can say about it now, Hollywood was pretty crummy from the '70s until about ten yrs. ago.

And the next time you're there, chat up the waiters, all of whom were characters when I went there more often. If the waitstaff now aren't the guys who, fifteen yrs. ago, looked like they could've been my father, the current crew are probably the sons/nephews of the old-timers.M.
