When times are tough, folks get creative. Here in Topanga, residents are required to perform brush clearance, for fire prevention. Starting in late spring, the buzz and funk of gas-powered weed-wackers fills the air.
This clever entrepreneur is advertising an alternative method of brush clearance. "Rent-a-Ruminant! Goats and Sheep for hire. Before the grass turns to fuel, hire our herd!"
I love this idea. Very cool that goats can provide this service. Several times a year I see a craggly field being cleaned up by a herd of goats that have been rented for this purpose. Yeah!
ReplyDeleteVery smart idea. I love the sign!!

Seeing how the well-manicured lawn tries to mimic m'lords sheep-grazed English fields, this is an idea whose time has come (again).
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! I have a friend with some property that's getting pretty tall in the weeds and grass department. I told her to see if a local farmer would rent out their animals. I was kidding, but someone actually does that. Perfect!!!!! :-)
