This is a terrific shot. You describe the simplest things with such wonderful detail. Would you please consider taking a shot like this and describe the sounds, smells, etc. of the shot? Thank you for sharing your trip. Probably the only way I will see a sight like this.
If you're thinking of checking out Red Hook, you should try Ferdinando's Focacceria for lunch or dinner. The place is almost 100 years old, and it serves some incredible Sicilian food. The arancini are wonderful, and the signature chickpea fritter sandwiches (loaded with ricotta and caciocavallo cheese) are addictive.
I hope you can make it to the Bell House for the Secret Science Club lecture... it's like a college class with a fully stocked bar.
