"Thematic Photographic" - Carmi at the blog Written, Inc. presents a weekly themed photographic challenge. This week's theme is NIGHT.
Night in Manhattan's Times Square looks a little different than night in other places. These photos were taken last summer around midnight, after a show. While it's not as crowded as one expects, there are still lots of people out, lots of things going on - and above it all, the glaring, moving, blazing, flashing lights.

Oh all beautiful photos, expressing almost daylight in the darkest part of night...much like Las Vegas also a city of lights! I still have on my list to see a show in New York City! Lucky you! Great horse too, I'd love to go for a carriage ride through Central Park!
ReplyDeleteI have a plethora of night pictures!
ReplyDeleteIncluding a bunny at 2am yesterday morning.

Beautiful! I especially like the one you've put as your header photo, and the one with the taxi cab.
ReplyDeleteIt's a long time since I visited New York but these instantly brought back memories :)
It is sort of like Vegas isn't it? Almost more bright than daytime other places!
ReplyDeleteHad to look at these night scenes again...I've already been thinking how lovely it would be to walk past all the department store's Christmas windows! Have you been there at Christmastime???
ReplyDeleteHere I was thinking I didn't have any night shots, but of course I have photos from Times Square!
ReplyDeleteOMG do I LOVE this series! I've been to Times Square a number of times, but never managed to capture it with quite the nighttime vibrancy that you have here. Delightful!
ReplyDeleteNeat coincidence: I did a live TV interview from the studio inside the NASDAQ building a few years back. I wrote about it here:
