FAD Friday

"Ducks in Snow" 1935 Japanese woodcut, Ohara Koson

"Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but paddling like the dickens underneath." - Michael Caine.

In honor of Mrs. G's late, great Aunt, FAD Friday is the day we can let loose our frustrations in the comments section. Feel free to tell whatever's bugging you to "Go fuck a duck!"

What's making you paddle like the dickens this week?

  2. FAD, my April Fools joke on my husband wasn't nearly as drawn out as I would have liked. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted!

  4. Oh my : )
How about I FREAK out about the snowflakes that are falling from the sky. Do you know I haven't found barely a flower anywhere in my neighborhood lately? We just can't get Spring to come to us no matter how hard we try!

  6. Nothing to complain about... I've got to work a graveyard shift tomorrow, so I'm spending the early afternoon getting drunk by "taste testing" my new batch of limoncello.

  7. Life in general is making me paddle really quickly.
But that's not altogether bad, but does mean I have GOT to get this house cleaned up this weekend.

    A good FAD? I got a raise.
A perplexing FAD? DOn't know what to do about a job opportunity.
Another perplexing FAD? One of the blogs I like to read went "invite' only. Sigh. And Sad because that usually means something hard/sad is happening.

The day I have been dreading for two and half years is happening tomorrow. We have made the heartwrenching decision that my gorgeous and beloved Old Man Dog is making his last trip to the vet.

Having beaten seven shades of shit out of the Grim Reaper regularly since Christmas 2008 he has given in. Well, the tall skinny bastard came by waving a frisbee instead of a scythe this time and no border collie on Earth can resist a Frisbee.

If you get a second tomorrow would you please think a happy thought for my OMD?

    Happy Birthday Gary and Debra.

    Happy Birthday Gary and Debra.

Trash, so very sorry for your loss. Those dogs, they sure know how to wiggle their way into our hearts. And sit there for eternity.

  12. Fuck! My cute car got totalled! (thanks for your comment).

  13. FAD! I had to spend $400 on urgent car repairs and thus postpone, yet again, paying for the paperwork to get my non-profit business up and running. Sigh...

  14. Aunt Snow--Friday morning my DH insisted that I lost his keys and kept following me around our apartment asking where I put them. So, I logged on to his facebook account and posted that we were expecting a baby. I also sent a message to one of his coworkers to get them on board with the congratulations, etc. I didn't expect him to check his FB so early in the morning, though.

Trash, I'm so sorry about your dog. Thinking about you and your family this morning.

Gary and Debra--how were the birthday celebrations?
