A productive weekend
Here's what I worked on this weekend. I planted some containers for the deck. This year, I decided to plant tomatoes, peppers, herbs and lettuce, with some bright orange and yellow flowers.
Tomatillo and marigolds
I hope they'll fill out in time for a barbecue we're having later this month.
Nice! I'm doing far better than I expected for my brown-thumb garden this year. 4 tomatoes have quadrupled in size...arugula, lettuce, basil and radish seeds have sprouted and are doing well.
It is traditional fare in the countries of Central and West Africa, and is one of the leading leafy green vegetables in Nigeria, where it is known as ‘soko yokoto’, meaning "make husbands fat and happy". ~

ReplyDeleteThis may be the kick in the pants I need to get my containers planted with some fresh color.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your productive weekend!
Beautiful! Your tomatillos are much farther along than mine...and I planted them weeks ago!
ReplyDeleteabsolutely beautiful indeed! we are planting tomatoes later, with little hope for success with my black thumb ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd you can eat Celosia, too.
