Autumn sights

Persimmons at the Farmers Market

It's finally starting to feel like autumn here in Southern California. Here are some sights.

The weirdly wonderful blossoms of the southern hemisphere plant, protea.

Red grape leaves in the chill of morning.

Brilliant multi-colored chiles and peppers, at the Farmers Market.

Golden cauliflower, also at the Farmers Market.

The streets of Santa Monica

Darkness comes earlier, now that it's November - but soon we'll turn our clocks back. Does it feel like fall where you are?

  1. Certainly fall here in Ohio, Aunt Snow.

Those golden cauliflowers are appealing...did you try one?

  2. The weather here is ridiculously warm for November...but the trees are turning gold and red anyway. Mornings are dark and getting darker every day. I think I may have to change all the lights to 100 watt bulbs just to stay sane this winter!

  4. Oh, it is definitely fall here! In the past week I have seen dried grapes on the vine, more leaves on the ground than the trees, and the forecast of possible snow.

  5. I love your farmer's market photos. It even feels a bit like fall in Florida. Hurricane Sandy gave us a cold front, some cooler weather, and MUCH lower humidity. Hooray! Doors and windows open!
