I was brought up with pie and mash and liquor (which is the special sauce that goes with it) and vinegar ... but I never liked jelly eels... my lovely dad loved them!!! "Pie and Mash" is the real deal from my point of view!
My most vivid experiences with eels were catching them when we were bottom-fishing for other fish on Jekyll Island, Ga.Very tricky to get off your hook...in just a minute, they could have the entire rig and some fishing line tangled in a giant, slimy knot.~
It just sounds so wrong on every level.
I looked up a recipe..yes, I would try them with chili vinegar!
