I turned on my computer and the headlines were there next to my get-email button... I usually ignore the, but I saw the words Haiti and Earthquake. I clicked. It felt like a punch in the stomach. Your photograph and words do the same.
Those poor people have been through so much... and now THIS. My understanding as a Christian is that we are to be God's hands, arms, and feet.
A friend inquired whether the removed post was offensive. Just to assure everyone, no, it was not offensive, in the general sense. It was spam, and inappropriate spam, too, being marketing-oriented cheerful in response to my post. so I removed it.
I pray that Haiti finds a way to work through this national tragedy toward a brighter future. The optimist in me has to believe that this is an inflection point in this country's ill starred history.
It is simply awful.
