Thematic Photographic - Monochrome madness

Each week Carmi at Written, Inc. has challenged readers with a theme for photographic inspiration. This week the photographic challenge continues with the theme "monochrome madness."

Brown lizard on brown dirt. One of our small Topanga lizards that lives in my yard, he hides in plain sight by blending into the landscape.

Except that touch of blue on his belly underside.

You come up with the most unique photos for these challenges. I always love seeing them.

I think lizards are fascinating! whatever colour they are, they blend into their own habitat. We saw some really gorgeous ones in Greece!

I took my daughter to a garden centre the other day because they have lots of fish and lizards etc. I don't think her vision is mature enough yet to spot the lizards blending in.

Excellent. I wish I had some lizards.

Every time I see a lizard in its environment, I can't help but think about where it finds food and water, and how it manages to survive in such an inhospitable part of the planet.

No water, no food, no color...yet somehow, they survive. Amazing. And an amazing shot: I've never managed to capture lizards with quite this degree of depth. I can almost touch it!
