Where are we?
Look at this photo. Where do you think we are? In the subways of London, Paris, New York?
Walk around, go out through the turnstiles, and head up to the street.
Street scene - it could be a major metropolitan city. Chicago? San Francisco?
It's L.A. Many people don't know Los Angeles has a subway. This is the 7th Street Metro Center, the central location in the heart of downtown, where the Red, Blue, Purple Lines meet, as well as the brand new Expo Line.
We took a ride on the Expo Line this past weekend. It's operating from 7th Street Metro Center to La Cienega and Jefferson Boulevard. The Expo Line will eventually go all the way to Santa Monica in 2016, traveling on the old right-of-way of the Santa Monica Air Line. The last time public transit ran on the line was 1953.

We can hardly wait for the Expo line to make it to Culver City...being able to ride downtown rather than drive will be a treat!
Did you drive from home & then get the train to downtown L.A.? 'Cause if you did, you're doing it backwards!
I think I'll be attending more openings in the burgeoning Culver City Arts Zone now.
Do you think people will truly use it and lessen the load on the highways?
Karen I think a lot of westsiders will be delighted to take the Expo Line downtown.
Also commuters to Santa Monica, when it gets built. The morning/evening rush hour on the 10 is awful!
Well, it's about time!
No way will I ride a subway in California. Not in a box. Not with a fox.
Oh to live in a city with good public transportation again....
