Three Things - a quickie, November 7 - 9, 2008

Well, what with all the excitement of the election, I didn't get around to posting the Three Things worth checking out this weekend. But here are a couple of fun suggestions for the upcoming weekend:

1) On Saturday, November 8th, go take a tour of artists' studios at the Santa Monica Airport, 3100 Airport Avenue between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. . The airport studios are supported by the City of Santa Monica's Cultural Affairs Division.

2) Go listen to some cool jazz at the Good Hurt on Venice Boulevard in West L.A. - my good friend Gary Mendell and his Jazz Collective is playing there on Sunday, November 9th. He's a good guy - give his group some props!

3) Go to the Autry National Center's Intertribal Arts Marketplace, November 7 - 9, 2009. Enjoy performances, food, and native storytelling. Attend seminars and demonstrations of Native American crafts and arts. Browse the exhibitions of artwork for sale. It's the largest Native American arts sales event in Southern California.

And here we are in backwaters nowhere wondering what we might possibly do. Pathetically my husband and I slunk down on the couch on a Friday night and turned on the weather network. How old are we, 103?
