Cute and clever

I was just thinking about how, in 2009, I should resolve to dress a little nicer, a little more professional, a little more feminine. Does this have anything to do with the fact that, when getting ready for our New Year's Eve date, I couldn't even find any mascara in my shabby little cosmetic bag? Well, maybe....

I was strolling along Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park, an eclectic mix of commerce that includes Latino travel agencies, dollar stores, hipster bars, carnicerias and tortillerias and taco stands, when I came across a cute funky little pink-and-black boutique called Le Bohemian Chic.
Inside the tiny space were displays of fun artsy jewelry, pretty little soap and bath accessories, flirty flowered blouses, and other fun stuff.
On a shelf near the back of the store, I found this little black eye-shadow compact for only $10. I couldn't resist.
It's a chunky little box, with a peacock figure and a tiny chip of mirror. It cleverly unfolds its tail feathers - an array of colorful eyeshadows. The peacock flips down to reveal a tiny brush and a highlighter and dark shade.
Isn't it clever?
The proprietor of Le Bohemian Chic is a pleasant young woman whose young daughter helps her in the store. She's also a handbag designer - her leather bags come in bright colors and feature big pleated leather roses.
Le Bohemian Chic is located at 1527 West Sunset Boulevard, at Leveta in Echo Park.

Hello G, your new compact of eye shadow is very pretty. It puts one in mind of a Peacock.

Thank you for your visit to my pink post. We were out of town and I am still trying to catch up on my pinkie.
Le Bohemian Chic is a store I would love. I love artsy things that are different.

Hugs...Jeanne

ah! It's a peacock! I thought it was a mermaid tail at first. So feathers, not scales.

le BOUTIQUE! It is so much fun to add a little French here and there---guess you live in CA, lucky ducky...it is so cold and snowy here....

Glennis, this is so unusual. I would feel prettier just looking at it.
