Claudia's Bridal shop in Huntington Park, CA |
One thing I would like to do is use this change to explore more options. I'm going to try to get a wider audience for my writing. Whether I'm selling it or giving it away, I'm going to try to reach more audiences.
I need to put together a portfolio, and I'm asking for your help. If you've enjoyed the writing you've read in this blog, help me choose my best work. Several of you have liked my posts about travel. Can you tell me what blog posts are your favorites?
Tell me your top three favorite posts. You can write it in the comments. There's an archive on the right, organized by date, and there's also a list of topics, or labels, below that. Or if you don't have time to search, but you remember something you liked, tell me. Or email me directly, at my profile, if you'd prefer.
I want to put together a portfolio of maybe a dozen samples, and see if I can take it anywhere. Your help will be immensely valuable to me.
Thanks.

Wow- pick three posts out of five years' worth of quality writing.
Gonna need some time. Off the top of my head, your recent Mexico posts were informative, and the photographs were gorgeous. Taken as a "series", they were top-notch.
Now, to go through the archives...
The dancing girls series was very nice.

Definitely anything you wrote in depth about your Los Angeles outings
Who knew I had a bridal shop in LA?
I'll also need a few days to browse through old posts but off the top of my head, I love your posts about things around LA and your neighborhood. In particular, restaurant reviews (I remember one where some hipster asked you where you were visiting from and you answered Topanga Canyon.)Every time I read these, I want to come visit!
I couldn't keep it to three posts, but I picked my all-time favorites in several different categories -- sent via e-mail. :)
I can't pick just 3. I love your L.A. food posts the most.
Dear Aunt Snow, I love the "What's in the Fridge" posts. A great group that caters to our baser instincts (greed etc) and gives evidence of your wider interests (anthropology, sociology, photography) as well as showing your willingness to adapt and work well under pressure! franinoz (long time lurker)
