It's been an unusually cool July. Mornings are chilly and foggy. Some mornings I have to drive with wipers on to clear the mist from my windshield.If I'm running early enough, there's time to pull off the road for a moment and check out the beach.

A clutch of gulls.Where are you driving this morning? If your drive goes past something beautiful, stop a minute, get out of your car, and take it in.
It might be only five minutes, but sometimes that's all you need to fill your lungs with oxygen, smell the sea, and recharge your batteries for a day's work.
Back in the car and on your way.

I have to admit, I'm very much enjoying this weather. I love being able to wear my lightweight sweaters, but I fear this is softening us up for a really brutally hot September and October.
There's a particular route I drive to work because one stretch of road is lined with gorgeous liquid amber trees. In the fall they're really spectacular.
You are so right about this. We are so busy that the beauty in front of our faces gets unnoticed. If we could re-train to STOP. LISTEN. SEE. and LEARN. we'd all be better off. I'll try it but I can't say it will be easy!
It's been so horrendously hot here that I can hardly imagine the damp fog without feeling smothered in heat.
I am blessed to live in an absolutely gorgeous area (rural northern Virginia). There often is no place to pull off the road --unless I am on the bypass-- but I truly do enjoy the view.

I used to ride 11 miles each way to my awful office job, just to put this into practice.
Our July has been extremely hot, with heat indices in the triple digits a number of days.
Columbus OH has not fared any better than NYC-Yonkers.
Freakin' humid, too.

It's so cool and overcast that I decided we're not renting a house at the beach this year. I can't see paying $2,500 to be socked in.
