Stormy morning at the beach

We know the east coast is experiencing a heat wave. We sympathize. Here in Southern California, we often suffer from hot weather, especially when the desert winds blow through our canyons.

But you know what? Today it's cool here, and misty and the sky over the ocean is gray with lowering storm clouds. This is the beach in Santa Monica at 8:30 am today.

What did we do to deserve this?

I'm not sure, but I'm enjoying the coolness...I know it will slam us up against the wall soon, the heat. *sigh*

Happy SummerISH! :)

That marine layer lies in wait on the edge of the coastal range, threatening to spill into my sunny valley. I have a picture of that, coming up soon.

I'm not sure, but I'd love to trade with you! I'm in Upstate NY and it's been 90 + degrees!! BTW, I'm a follower from TWC and really enjoy your blog!!

What a gorgeous photo. We are on the verge of, what is for us, a heat wave. I view as an excuse to laze about. I hope you are having a great day. Blessings...Mary

I love watching the preludes to storms- the wind picking up, the smell, the play of lightning in the distance.

We might get thunderstorms today, which will break the near-100 heatwave.

I'd happily trade as well. We've been getting a ton of rain with bouts of pounding sun and humidity in between. Ugh. The bugs alone are driving me nuts.

It is a relief for my eyes to come by here tonight. I'm having a tough time recalling our 30+ inches of snow just 5 months ago.

I know, what happened to summer?

I like hot weather, but I also like not having to pay a kajillion dollars in air conditioning bills.
