Carmi at the blog "Written, Inc." posts a photographic challenge each week at Thematic Photographic. This week, the theme is "Leaves."
Here, the intricate shape of the thick, leathery leaves of the California native shrub Fremontodendron stand out against the white plaster wall, as striking as the bright gold flowers.

I have always had a thing for leaves. So pretty.
Very pretty!
We've got such a contrast going on in my two (current) spots: dead leaves in Berkeley Springs, nature bursting out all over the place in 90 degree heat in D.C.

Love the compare/contrast of the colors: the vibrancy jumped right through my screen!
I can almost feel the thickness of the leaves. Nature is an amazing architect.
