Real life opera

La Traviata apartment house in Santa Monica. Operatic pretensions aside, the famed Verdi opera was based on Alexandre Dumas' novel La Dame aux Camelias, a romantic pot-boiler about a tubercular courtesan, but its Italian name, La Traviata, means "the fallen woman."  Would it be a little odd to live in an apartment so named?

Hmmm! Perhaps they don't know what it means? Or maybe they sing opera all day long!!

Those are lovely little balconies but I fear "The Fallen Woman" could be taken too literally!

The photo intrigued me, your title drew me in, and several commenters cracked me up. All in all, an excellent way to sip my coffee this morning before heading off to work.

Happy rainy Tuesday, Aunt Snow! :)

It would make me think a little every time I'd come home. I love, of all things, the font. It's not something you see much of anymore.
