First of spring

Here's the first iris of spring!

These are Pacific Coast native iris blooming under coast live oaks in my front yard.

I love the veined petals with the streak of yellow - landing strips for pollinating insects.

Very pretty...here we have Redbud and other early flowers.

The Dogwoods are just starting to bark...

They look so delicate. I love the color.
Our Red Buds are out, my Forthyseia was beautiful this year, all my Daffodills are finished and my Lillacs are just beginning. It isn't even April yet, the early Spring means I will have to plant more Annuals because my Perrenials will all bloom early too. Oh well, more fun at the Garden Center this year.

Those Irises are so gorgeous! We have a riot of daffodils growing at one of our sites, and small crocuses are popping up all over.

Even better, my delicious stinging nettles are coming back- I'll be festing on creamed nettles for the next few months.

So pretty! The deer gobbled my mini iris up before I got a chance to photograph them so I really appreciate you sharing yours!
