What a difference

On Monday it was 104 degrees here. The hot winds were blowing from the desert, and the posted Fire Danger was "Very High." Today, it's foggy and 57, and moisture drips from the eaves. What a crazy contrast.

Jack much prefers the cool. He enjoys lying on the deck

and looking out over the garden.

That picture of Jack's nose sticking out of the deck railing is perfect.

Theda loves the deck, too.

Homer came in from his rounds this morning with damp fur.

A refreshing difference!
We haven't had rain for 3 months so our fire danger remains a bit high, although the temps have cooled down. I think our high today was 57 degrees and there was frost on the grass this morning.

What a relief it must be! We haven't been quite that hot, but a cool down would be nice.

The hot, dry weather in October really worries us because we've so close to losing our home in a wildfire. I'm sure you have the same concerns.

I much prefer the cool and wet to the hot and dry.
