Scenes of the market

Any visitor who goes to Seattle has to visit the Pike Place Market. Here are some photos of our visit.

The "Read All About It" newstand has been there as long as I've known the market.

But this is new to me - Japanese hot dogs!! Various kinds of sausages - some made of tofu - are dressed with American or Japanese condiments. The Matsuri is a kielbasa dressed with Japanese mayonnaise, seaweed, teriyaki glazed onions and carrots.

The biggest attraction are the fish markets, especially the one right in the front where the crew throw whole salmon across the counter to amuse the tourists. This market is further down the row of stalls, but I like their selection.

Beautifully displayed produce.

Beautiful wild mushrooms, great prices.

An assortment of luscious berries.

Bouquets of cut flowers.

Our trip was short, but we filled it with wonderful sights, tastes and sounds.

I just love that market! Such wonderful stalls - how did you stop drooling all the way round?

Those berries looked so delicious - and the flowers were gorgeous.

And, of course, great photos!

The last time I was in Seattle, I only had a glimpse of the Pike Place Market from the street above. It has always been a photographer's dream.
