"Thematic Photographic" - Carmi at the blog Written, Inc. presents a weekly themed photographic challenge. This week's theme is NIGHT.
How's this for an urban night scene?
A dark night. Street lights. The steel structure of the elevated train nearby, the sound as the cars rattle past.
An old building, windows darkened. On the fourth floor, the edge of a curtain is pulled back - is someone watching? A dingy bar-room below, with neon beer signs. The steel gate of a store-front pulled down securely.
Auto traffic hushes by. Who parked a scooter by the tree?
Taken in Queens, New York City, in May, 2010.

I'm not sure you should be out in that neighborhood after dark!
This is rich beyond words. You've painted, in images and prose, a moment that will stick in my mind for a while. Brilliantly reflected, and a wonderful way to slowly wind down the theme.
I'm with Sue: I'm glad you're OK after shooting this :)
I wonder if there is a cat peering out of that window?
