Three Things to check out
Here are three cool things happening this week. Check them out!
1) On Wednesday, check out L.A. Conservancy's Wednesday evening Downtown at Sunset walking tour. These guided tours take place each Wednesday evening between July 16 and August 27, 2008. This week's tour is the Art Deco Tour of downtown. I'm sure that this building will be featured!
2) On Thursday, check out the newest exhibit at the UCLA Hammer Museum, "Between Earth and Heaven" - The Architecture of John Lautner . This exhibit features drawings, models, photos and video of homes designed by one of Los Angeles' most important and innovative architects. Or, you can splurge and go on a tour of Lautner homes in Los Angeles - this is a not-to-be-missed opportunity if you are interested in Mid-Century architecture. The museum is free all day each Thursday. During the summer, the museum hosts evening concerts in the courtyard, and the galleries stay open until 9:00 p.m.
3) On Saturday night, enjoy the dusk to dawn GLOW arts event in Santa Monica. Starting at 7:00 p.m. and running until 7:00 a.m. - yes, that's right, it goes all night long - GLOW features unique arts events on the beach, Palisades Park and the Santa Monica Pier. And it's free!
Three Things photo is of three wooden figurines by South African artist Collen Maswanganyi.
