Thematic Photographic - Green

Every week Carmi at Written, Inc. poses a theme for photographic inspiration. This week's theme is GREEN.

Green - these are the leaves of a plant called melianthus major. It has large, serrated tropical-looking leaves that are a waxy-grey-green color. A reddish inflorescence appears in spring. If you bruise the leaves or rub them with your fingers, they smell a little like peanut butter.

Glennis, you are amazing. Both of your greens are so interesting. I love the photos.

Honey bush? Giant honey flower? Something like that? There are a bunch of these near the gorilla exhibit at the zoo. I always let the kids rub the leaves.

Peanut butter? Really?

Jason, as himself said...

Peanut butter? Huh.

I love the jagged edges of the leaves.

Hey I like that! But I hate peanut butter.

Those serrated edges remind me of circular saw blades.
