Boots on the ground

This pair of abandoned boots has been on the corner of Chartres and Mazant Streets for the past month. This is an empty corner; both this lot and the one across the street are vacant, the one on the south side kept mowed and neat by HANO, who owns the property. On this side, the weeds grow. And the boots remain.

What's their story?

It's a message to you, Auntie. "These boots are meant for walking" - back to California or anywhere, really, that is as far away as possible from that dump of a city you are living in!

David, the shtick is getting old, and frankly, it's never been very funny. It also exposes your profound ignorance about New Orleans. I'd suggest you relax, have an Abita and an oyster po'boy, and be nice or leave.

But ... but ... I am trying to be nice - and it's not easy, I can tell you. I am happy, and the more I see of it the happier I am, to admit my profound ignorance of New Orleans which I can only judge by your photographs which, alas, I keep comparing to the ones you published of your Californian environment. Still, perhaps you're right and I am being a tad boring so I will try not to be rude about N.O. again but please, pretty please, try to cut down on the shots of the food bowls. It's breakfast time 'over here' and I woke up to your latest food picture. I nearly took to my bed again!

Good grief! DD needs the mercy of being blocked.
Those boots are an excellent writing prompt. I may have to come back to this one.
