Sit for a bit

It's been a busy weekend. We had a party here at the house Saturday - it was mostly for The Man I Love's colleagues from work, but also included some great friends - especially, some of our neighbors we haven't seen for a while, since we've been too busy working.

And our son came home from college. It was wonderful to see him; he was gracious at the party, too, talking with folks. And then he took the car and drove out to hang out with his friends!

We had way too much food and drink, and stayed up late with friends. I've been in my pajamas all day today, and have run three dishwasher-loads so far!

We heard from our former next door neighbors - both our families moved into our houses the same month, back in 1996, and we've been great friends ever since. They moved to Toronto a couple years ago, and we miss them terribly. They are back in town for a visit, and we're having them over this coming Friday night - and invited old friends.

It's a good time to sit and relax, enjoy the scenery. The photo above is of a viewpoint along a small road in Topanga, where you can sit on a bench and look out over the canyon.

ah, homecomings can be so heartwarming. and I'm glad he ran off to visit his friends, otherwise I would worry about him : )

Three dish-washer loads? Couldn't your son have done the washing up?! ;)
